One of my favourite venues – The Old Finsbury Town Hall www.theoldfinsburytownhall.co.uk– organised a Vintage Wedding Fair. The Idea came from the hall manager Ziggy, very organised and professionally she made this first fair a successful event. The Event was co-hosted by the Creative Stylist Zoe Lem www.zoelem.co.uk and with both flair for wedding they turned the venue into a very stylish wedding fair with amazing suppliers show casing.
On the occasion we set up a beautiful Vintage stand… all our crockery was supplied by our sister company hire equipment and just looked beautiful.
The Head Chef and I were discussing what we should offer to the public to sample our food and we came up with our new hearty vintage style dessert selection that we will serve after the main course on each table as a selection.
Beetroot and chocolate brownies

Polenta and orange cake
Coconut and Plantain cake
Courgette and walnut cake
Almond and raspberry heart shaped cake
Apple cake
Served with Tia Maria cream and red fruit coulis
What a success it was, everyone who tasted our cakes were amazed by the flavors and the texture of each selection… even a sweet little girl which never heard of beetroot before was stunned by the moist and taste of the Beetroot chocolate Brownies but when I explain to her that beetroot was vegetable she was speechless.
We were also having our famous Organic Iberico Ham, to serve as canapés and our Farm cheese in display to serve with our sour dough bread.
We have met lots of very lovely clients and already done estimate and designed fabulous wedding menus for their celebration in this rather grand 19th century building decorated in the Flemish Renaissance style, but with Art Nouveau decor, and it’s definitely one of the most beautiful London venues to host a wedding reception whichever is your theme.
Talking to all the Brides and giving them ideas on their wedding themes was really lovely, the show case was a great idea to approach new customers.
On the day we met with other great suppliers specially a florist – their display was just fabulous and we are looking forward in working with them www.flor-unikon.com. Theatre of Wine www.theatreofwine.com was attracting many clients in tasting with a selection of affordable but very well chosen wine and sparkling…
