Both my wife and I eat out a lot and have eaten in a plethora of top end restaurants so food is very important to us. Over the years, the vast majority of food we’ve eaten at weddings has been lacking and this has always been a disappointment to us, so we came to Easy Gourmet hoping to get something a little more interesting and different for our own wedding and we got it.

The whole experience was fantastic and stress free from start to finish. With regard to the decoration, design and set up of the room they seemed to instinctively understand what we were trying to achieve and were able to advise accordingly. For the food we were able to pick and choose dishes and tweek elements to get them just how we wanted.

On the day itself, due to time constraints i was only able to give brief instructions as to the set up of the room, but when i came back in the afternoon everything was better than i could have possibly imagined. What’s more, when the food came out it was spectacular. After the meal many of our guests said that it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding.

In short, Easy Gourmet do more than just create fantastic food, they also act as wedding planners and are on hand to make sure everything goes to plan.

And, just as home and food are inseparable, so are weddings and food. There is this special and unbreakable connection between the couple and what sort of menu they choose. Oh…how much you can say with a simple choice of a starter! Your wedding is about you, inviting your loved ones to celebrate the sheer joy of you both getting married to each other. And so, the menu can be as varied as you like. You could opt for a traditional English or any other country’s menu, to showcase your treasured heritage. If you are brave enough, you can surprise your guests with unusual, exotic food (which could also compliment your atypical venue layout, if this is something that sounds exciting to you). The possibilities are endless and we would love to list you all the possible interior choices.  The measure, approved in the National Assembly in a 329-to-229 vote, puts France on track to join about a dozen mostly European nations that allow gay marriage and comes despite a string of recent demonstrations by opponents of the so-called “marriage for all” bill.

With Tuesday’s vote, France joins Britain in taking a major legislative step in recent weeks toward allowing gay marriage and adoption — making them the largest European countries to do so. The Netherlands, Belgium, Norway and Spain, as well as Argentina, Canada and South Africa have authorized gay marriage, along with nine U.S. states and the District of Columbia.

The issue has exposed fault lines between a progressive-minded leftist legislative majority in officially secular France, and the country’s conservative religious roots. Critics — including many Roman Catholics — have railed that the bill would erode the traditional family. Socialists, however, sought to depict the issue as one of equal rights, and they played off France’s famed Revolution-era motto of “Liberty, Equality and Fraternity.”

“This law is going to extend to all families the protections guaranteed by the institution of marriage,” Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault said before Tuesday’s vote. “Contrary to what those who vociferate against it say — fortunately they’re in the minority — this law is going to strengthen the institution of marriage.”

As with many major and controversial reforms in France, the issue drew its share of political grandstanding over weeks of debate. Conservative opponents forced a discussion of nearly 5,000 amendments, a move derided by Socialists as inconsequential stalling tactics. But by the final vote, the government rank-and-file rolled out grand, solemn statements of victory.

“This law is a first necessary step, a social evolution that benefits society overall,” said Socialist representative Corinne Narassiguin, announcing her party’s support for the measure. “Opening up marriage and adoption to homosexual couples is a very beautiful advance. … It is an emblematic vote, a vote that will mark history.”

However, the political right hasn’t given up just yet, saying the Constitutional Court — whose 12 members include three former French presidents and several other prominent conservatives — will determine whether the law, if finally passed, meshes with the law of the land.

“So it’s not the end of the story yet,” said Herve Mariton, a member of the main opposition UMP party. “We still have arguments to make and we want to convince people that it is not a good project.” The government didn’t get all it wanted. The Socialists last month backed off plans to link the gay marriage measure to relaxed restrictions on fertility treatments, after catching political heat for its stance on assisted reproduction. The issue is expected to come up in a separate bill later this year.

Hollande made legalizing gay marriage one of the planks in his 60-point program on the way to winning the presidency in May over conservative incumbent Nicolas Sarkozy. But Hollande’s popularity has fallen along with France’s lackluster economic performance, and his foes on the right appear to sense he might be vulnerable on a high-profile social issue.

The latest polls suggest a narrow majority of French support gay marriage, but that has declined from about two-thirds support in August. In mid-January, at least 340,000 people swarmed on the Eiffel Tower to protest the plan to legalize gay marriage, according to police estimates. Two weeks later, about 125,000 proponents of the bill marched in the capital.

French civil unions, allowed since 1999, are at least as popular among heterosexuals as among gay and lesbian couples. But that law has no provisions for adoption or assisted reproduction.

Easy Gourmet are fantastic! We hired the hugely talented Marie-Laure and her team to cater our wedding on 28 March 2013 and the results were outstanding. In fact words cannot describe how incredibly happy we were with Easy Gourmet….

We had canapes, a hot buffet and desserts and drinks for 170 guests. Every single guest expressed how wonderful the food was and most went back for seconds including myself! Indeed the food was amazing!

Marie-Laure was the consummate professional and apart from her wonderful recommendations for the menu, she was an invaluable support throughout the wedding planning. Her team of chefs and waiting staff were not only talented but so polite and wonderful to our guests. We couldn’t have asked for more.

The menu supplied was mouthwatering and it was very hard to decide not to have the whole lot! I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Easy Gourmet and will be using them again!

As entertaining as they are unique, the Jazz In Paris Project bring you an exciting new sound with their original French adaptations of familiar standards such as Night And Day, All Of Me, and Body & Soul, their renditions of traditional French classics like Edith Piaf’s La Vie En Rose, and their interpretation of well-known pop tunes such as The Eurythmics’ quintessential Sweet Dreams.

Kevin Glasgow has been an active member of the Scottish jazz scene for the last seven years, performing with the likes of international artists such as Joe Locke, Tony Monaco, Clarke Tracy, Dave OHiggins, and the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra. Kevin has also performed at a variety of prestigious venues, including the Glastonbury Festival, the Glasgow International Jazz and Blues Festival, the Edinburgh Jazz Festival, and Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club.

In 1996, Marie-Laure came to Britain on a sabbatical to improve her English, but liked it so much that she decided to stay. Claire and Gabriel’s colour scheme for their wedding was purple. She had purple dresses for her bridesmaids, purple ties for the grooms men and purple flowers. We then added the finishing touches with adding purple linen and serviettes for the tables.
