Birthday party at the Great Gatsby
“Easy Gourmet made my party absolutely fabulous”
I engaged [name removed] and her team to cater for my 50th birthday party, and I was delighted with how it all turned out. The theme was Twenties and the Great Gatsby, and [name removed] helped to make it one of the best nights that I, my friends and relatives have ever had.
What impressed me was the attention to detail, right from the start. The first time I met [name removed], she began to talk about colour schemes and table decorations and timetables, and how I wanted the canapes served (they were brought out on mini art deco platforms, which were beautifully lit up). These were things I simply hadn’t given any thought to.
The party was held at the Finsbury Town Hall, which is more art nouveau than art deco, but it is a beautiful venue. [name removed]’s vision for dressing the room made it look even more fabulous, like a Twenties stage set, with huge feathers emerging from tall, sparkling vases. It was clear that my guests felt it was all very special.
And the food was wonderful. There was plenty of it – some people even went back for thirds.
I had a dessert tower, which was much talked about, and Easy Gourmet also made me a fabulous art deco cake.
[name removed] advised me on how much wine to order. Unfortunately I didn’t listen to her and ordered more than she had suggested, which meant there was loads left over.
