Further to recent media revelations, about Horse Meat/DNA, please take this statement as confirmation that xxxxxxx has never purchased horse meat for use in our production at any stage.
We rigorously scrutinize all of our suppliers and will continue to check their activities to ensure that we remain unaffected.
We will continue to follow our strict internal and external procedures, to ensure continuity of “clean” supply.
For your information, we are audited every 12 months for our BRC (British Retail Consortium) accreditation, for which we have achieved grade A status for the past 4 years. We are audited every 6 months by MHS (Meat Hygiene Services) and 5-6 times per year, we have unannounced audits by a company called RPA (Rural Payments Agency) who are a branch of DEFRA (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) Their priority is to check our labeling and traceability systems, which greatly exceed the minimum legal requirement.
