Your Wedding 12 month Planner Part Two

You’re at the half way mark now with just 6 months to go until your wedding day. If you’ve stayed on track so far then there’s no need to panic, everything is under control. If there are a few details which need attention then don’t worry, you still have time.

6 Months To Go

 Check your RSVPs and chase any outstanding invites. You’re going to want to have a firm idea of whose coming to your wedding so double check whose RSVP’d and chase up any outstanding invites.

Time to think about your hen and stag do. Planning a weekend away or just a few drinks with the girls? Whatever your plans, make sure that you book your hen and stag do this month.

Time to think about music and readings. Talk to your registry about music and readings so that they can be approved. This is especially important if you’re planning on writing your own vows. you also need to confirm the order of service and have your guest booklets printed.

5 Months To Go

 Start experimenting with different looks and hairstyles. Getting your wedding hair and make up right is something you need to start thinking about. It’s worth finding your hairdresser and make up artist now and starting to have some trial appointments so that come the big day you know that your look will be perfect.

Choose gifts for your wedding party. Its tradition that you purchase gifts for your wedding party. Just something small to say thank you for being part of your big day.

Have your first dress fitting. You’ve been exercising and watching what you eat so you need to make sure that your dress is still the perfect fit. Book in your first fitting and don’t forget your shoes.

Buy your accessories. Wedding lingerie, veil and tiara all need to be purchased. You don’t want to be hunting these things down last minute.

4 Months To Go

 Confirm the outfits for your groomsmen. Just double check that all the outfits for your groomsmen are ordered and fit perfectly.

Rehearsal. If you’re having a rehearsal and rehearsal dinner then book this now with the venue.

3 Months To Go

 Confirm your menu and drinks package with your venue and caterer. With just three months to go you need to make sure that your food and drinks menu is set in stone and all on track.

Have a second hair and beauty trial.  Treat yourself to a deep conditioning treatment and if you’re having a colour, now is the time to get it done.

Choose and book your first night hotel. Choose where you’re staying after the reception and sure that you book transport to take you there.

Double-check your honeymoon plans: Check passports and travel insurance.

  

1-2 Months To Go

 Final dress fitting: Make sure that you have your final dress fitting. Don’t leave it too close to the wedding as you don’t want to risk any further changes.

Confirm speeches have been written. Make sure that all your speeches are done and ready. You may want to ask the groom to double check that the best man has his speech complete and that it’s family friendly.

 Buy a guestbook. Guestbooks are a great way of preserving the moment for the future.

 Write a shot list for the photographer. Your wedding pictures are going to be with you for a long time so when you look back you want to be happy with what you see. Plan what shots you want, the photographer will thank you for it as they want you to be happy with your pictures.

 Have your final hair colour.

 

One Week Before – Check List 

  • Make final confirmation phone calls to your photographer, florist, cake maker, band, DJ, transport and so on
  • Confirm the final numbers with your caterers
  • Arrange for the cake to be delivered safely to the reception venue
  • Pack for the honeymoon
  • Have a manicure, pedicure and massage to relax

   

On The Day

 Your big day has arrived and this is when all the hard work and planning is going to come in to action. Try to remain calm and remember that delegation is your friend. If there’s something that needs to be done today ask someone as you need to concentrate on you and your husband to be.

 Just remember to relax and enjoy yourself.
